Ann holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from Reading University, England, and is a member of the Bar of England and Wales. She has also completed her Diploma of Legal Practice at The College of Law and was admitted as a solicitor to the Supreme Court of NSW in 2003 and the High Court of Australia.
Ann started her legal career in civil and commercial practice in Malaysia. After migrating to Australia with her family and upon completing her NSW practical legal training, Ann practiced tax law in a senior solicitor capacity.
During her career as a practicing solicitor, Ann has completed placements in a variety of roles including at LexisNexis where she worked as a legal editor, precedent developer and product manager. Her work covered key legal projects such as the mapping of the Queensland criminal justice system for road and traffic offences, and the automation of court and registry forms for family and conveyancing matters.
Ann also worked at The Embassy of the Republic of Brazil, where she acted as advisor and secretary to the Ambassador and has volunteered for the Refugee Advice & Casework Services (RACS), providing migration legal services to refugees and asylum seekers.
Ann’s legal and practical experiences span more than 15 years and have provided her with a wide knowledge base relating to family, civil and criminal law. In working with clients of all backgrounds, she has developed a good listening ear and has acted as a confidante and advisor for many of her clients, providing practical solutions to their problems.
Ann’s interest is in the field of legal technology and the use of technology to increase accessibility to the law by socially disadvantaged people. This interest has led Ann to pursue a Masters in Interaction Design and to complete her Diploma of Information Technology Practice at the University of Technology, Sydney. Ann plans to develop her knowledge in this fast-moving field and to apply her knowledge for the benefit of her clients.
