GTC stars put in a stellar effort at the QLS Touch Football Tournament 2016

Go to Court Lawyers has fielded a talented team in the 2016 QLS Touch Football Tournament held at JF O’Grady Memorial Park in Fairfield, Brisbane, on Saturday 7 May.

Although having never played together as a team before, the GTC Assailants fought hard over 4 gruelling matches, ultimately winning 1 game, drawing another and just missing wins in the other 2 by a whisker. Congratulations to the team – Charles Broadwater, Brianna Edwards, David Fitzgerald, James Habjan, Nicola Harkin, Matthew Hunter, Sebastian Jennings, Rebekah Lines, Rebecca Mullins, Tanguy Mwilambwe, Ali Rana, Max Russ, and Oliver Stevens – on a fine inaugural effort!

In the relay portion of the Tournament, our own Usain Bolts did us proud, though an unfortunate fumbled baton exchange on the last leg relegated the team to third instead of their rightful first place. Congratulations and commiserations to speedsters Tanguy Mwilambwe, Nicola Harkin, Brianna Edwards, and Max Russ on an incredible effort! You proved that at GTC, you really can get a good lawyer fast, and our fast lawyers are good! Next year the trophy is yours for sure!

Well done, too, to everyone else who helped make the day so enjoyable – from those cheering from the sidelines to the chefs who put up an amazing spread to sustain our athletes, and those who organised the shelter from what proved to be blazing heat – even in May. Such great team work from the Go to Court Lawyers staff!

Congratulations to the winning teams for a well-earned, hard-fought win, and many thanks to the Queensland Law Society for organising such a great event, and for continuing to promote healthy competition and camaraderie in the legal profession across the state. We look forward to the opportunity to participate in many more such events in the future.
