The Sydney Supreme Court is located in the heart of Sydney’s legal precinct in the Law Courts building. It shares the building with branch registries of both the Federal Court and High Court of Australia. The Law Courts building is located in Queens Square at 184 Phillip Street.
The Court is open from 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday. The registry is located on level 5 and the courtrooms are on levels 7 to 13. It is just a short walk from both Martin Place and St James train stations.
As the home of the Reserve Bank and a number of other major banking and finance corporations, Martin Place pedestrian mall is often described as the ‘civic heart’ of Sydney. The mall is surrounded by architectural landmarks and has featured in a number of high-end film and television productions. Its amphitheatre is often host to concerts, film festivals, and community events. Just over a kilometre from the Sydney Supreme Court is Sydney’s iconic Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
