Sydney Federal Circuit Court and Sydney Family Court
Both the Sydney Federal Circuit Court and the Sydney Family Court are located at 97-99 Goulburn St in the heart of the city. They are housed in the Lionel Bowen Building, named after the former Australian Deputy Prime Minister and Labor Party stalwart. Both courts are open from 8:45am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday.
Situated on the corner of Goulburn and Castlereagh Streets, the Courthouse is less than 300 metres from the Museum train station, and only a little more from Central and Town Hall stations. It also sits along a number of bus routes. Should you prefer to drive, secure parking is available nearby either across the road from the courthouse in Goulburn St, or a block away in World Square.
The Courthouse is less than a kilometre from the Pitt St mall, home to some of Sydney’s most prestigious shopping labels, and the iconic Centrepoint Tower. Also nearby are the magnificent Queen Victoria Building, built in 1898 in the midst of a severe recession in an effort to employ local craftsmen, and historic Town Hall, completed in 1889 after years of controversy, scandal and subterfuge.
